Veikkaus: Fennica Gaming Expands with New Casino Studio Online, Leadership Shifts Announced

Veikkaus has shared two key developments in its latest update, as the company moves toward a more competitive future in Finland’s evolving gambling market. These changes involve an expansion in its B2B operations and updates to its Board of Directors, both reflecting its strategy ahead of the end of its exclusive rights to online betting and digital casino games.

Fennica Gaming Expands Casino Studio Operations

Fennica Gaming, Veikkaus’ B2B subsidiary, is expanding with the integration of a new casino studio online. The move brings over 200 additional game IPs and 50 staff into the company’s fold, significantly enhancing its content offering and development capabilities.

This marks a strategic shift for the brand as it aims to position itself on the international stage with highly localised content that appeals to a diverse global audience. The new additions are expected to strengthen Fennica Gaming’s foothold in the live dealer and digital gaming sectors, potentially paving the way for future roulette low cost live studio innovations or collaborations with major game developers like Evolution Games.

Jonas Reuter, Chairman of the Fennica Gaming Board of Directors, commented on the expansion, saying: “This integration is a strategic move to meet the increasing demand for localised content. We’re merging a strong legacy of content creation across various verticals that have shaped Finland’s market. This step boosts our ability to serve international markets with tailored gaming experiences.”

Fennica Gaming, which launched its own titles such as Fruttis 2, Portal Heros, Alkemia, Chirp Amore, and Wobbyblobs, sees the expansion as a pathway to organic growth across all markets. The additional creative capacity from the new studio is expected to support both game development and international compliance—a vital factor for casino studios looking to scale across regulated markets.

Managing Director Timo Kiiskinen added: “This gives us the opportunity to create great games within our Gaming Universe and to serve the needs of various markets more effectively. The expansion allows us to enhance our ability to meet global regulatory demands and improve our standing as a trusted B2B partner.”

With an increasingly competitive environment on the horizon, the integration supports Fennica’s evolution into a more agile and globally attuned gaming business. This development may attract attention from companies browsing casinos for sale or seeking partnerships with emerging casino studio online ventures that are well-positioned for international growth.

Changes to the Veikkaus Board of Directors

Alongside its studio expansion, Veikkaus also announced changes to its Board of Directors. Anne Larilahti, Juha Väre, and Christian Cedercreutz will be stepping down, making way for two new appointments: Martti Ala-Härkönen and Charles Cohen.

Remaining on the board are Kaisa Olkkonen (Chairman), Leena Vainiomäki (Vice Chairman), Minna Pajumaa, Ossi Lindroos, and Katri Harra-Salonen.

Olkkonen shared her thoughts on the new appointments: “The board is now strengthened with significant experience in the international money gaming industry and financial management. Veikkaus’ vision is to be a respected and successful international gaming group by 2030, and the new members bring critical expertise to support that transformation.”

These changes reflect the company’s forward-looking approach. With added talent in both leadership and creative development, Veikkaus and its subsidiaries are preparing to meet the challenges of a competitive, deregulated gaming market—both in Finland and beyond.
