Readen Holding Corporation (RHCO) has finalised its acquisition of an 80% controlling stake in Morrich Lottery Limited, a fully licensed operator in Nigeria. The deal marks RHCO’s first major move into the African gaming landscape, granting access to operational licences for lottery, sportsbook, and casino activities in one of the continent’s most vibrant gaming hubs.
The acquisition is expected to serve as a launchpad for RHCO’s digital payment system, Readies, a blockchain-powered hybrid platform operated by its Czech-based licensed subsidiary, Finexeble. By integrating Readies into all Morrich Lottery activities, RHCO aims to ensure complete control over the financial and technical infrastructure while streamlining user experience across mobile-first and traditional gaming platforms.
RHCO’s expansion strategy reflects broader ambitions in the online gambling sector, including the deployment of new digital offerings such as scratch tickets, Keno, and enhanced mobile experiences. Alongside retail expansion, these efforts aim to boost accessibility and engagement, setting the stage for future integration with live dealer content and live studio environments. Such offerings could bring Nigeria closer to high-performance models used by global leaders in casino studio online gaming.
The rebranding of Morrich Lottery will also include the introduction of regulated casino operations, fully aligned with local compliance standards. With Nigeria’s growing interest in interactive gambling, RHCO’s entry is strategically positioned to explore opportunities in Evolution games-style developments, which have seen widespread success across other emerging markets.
Speaking on the announcement, RHCO CEO Ridzky Berg stated, “This is more than an acquisition – it’s a strategic launchpad into one of the most dynamic gaming markets in the world. Nigeria’s youthful population, expanding internet access, and growing appetite for digital gaming make this a prime market. With our proven fintech backbone and seasoned leadership, we’re ready to set a new standard for integrated, secure, and user-friendly gaming platforms across the region.”
The deal, officially closed today following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 21 April, comes on the heels of RHCO’s recent expansion into Japan through a licensing alliance with Quantum Solutions. This multi-market push highlights RHCO’s interest in scaling its presence across diverse regulatory environments while also exploring opportunities related to casinos for sale and collaborative ventures with game developers seeking footholds in high-growth territories.
As the African gaming sector continues to attract major players, RHCO’s move into Nigeria positions the company to influence the future of both traditional and digital gambling across the continent, with a clear pathway for developing low cost live studio gaming environments that blend local relevance with international innovation.
In related regional developments, Greentube has also made headlines by entering the South African market through a strategic agreement with Supabets, signalling a broader industry trend toward Africa-focused expansion strategies among leading iGaming and fintech companies.
