The Dutch Gaming Authority (KSA) has completed its investigation into Analyse Master, a sports betting tip platform, finding no regulatory violations by licensed gambling operators. However, concerns persist over the platform’s influence on young adults, particularly its use of role models to promote betting.
The investigation was launched after a 2024 report from Pointer exposed Analyse Master’s Telegram channel, which provided sports betting tips and directed users to gambling providers. Dutch law prohibits gambling advertisements featuring role models, prompting the KSA to determine whether licensed operators had engaged in unlawful promotions.
Two licensed operators were linked to Analyse Master’s promotions:
• One had an active collaboration but ended the partnership upon discovering the use of role models.
• The other purchased advertising space without direct collaboration and later ceased advertising due to the platform’s appeal to young audiences.
The Growing Concern Over Third-Party Gambling Promotions
While no direct violations were found, the KSA remains concerned about third-party platforms operating outside regulatory oversight, especially those that promote online gambling to young adults.
Michel Groothuizen, Chairman of the KSA Board, commented:
“The current advertising bans apply specifically to gambling providers, and not to third parties such as Analyse Master. The presence of social media channels promoting sports betting among young adults is a concerning and undesirable development because they are more vulnerable to gambling addiction.”
This investigation follows a series of recent enforcement actions by the KSA, including raids on illegal poker tournaments, resulting in the seizure of tens of thousands of euros.
